Sierra McNary, LPC-Associate

Supervised by Johanna Montenegro, LPC-S

Hi, I’m Sierra McNary.

Growing up and moving through life can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to be strong for everyone else. I work with teens and adults who often feel “too much,” “not enough,” or stuck in cycles of anxiety, self-doubt, or transition. Whether you’re navigating school stress, relationships, identity shifts, or pressure to have it all figured out, I offer a space where you can slow down and reconnect with yourself.

My counseling style is deeply relational. I believe people heal through connection, presence, and feeling truly seen. I take a client-centered approach and integrate mind-body awareness to help clients understand not just what they feel, but why. While I’m still growing in somatic work, I love introducing simple grounding and embodied practices when they feel supportive.

For clients who desire it, I offer faith-based counseling as part of the therapeutic process. I see faith as a potential source of comfort, identity, and healing, and I’m honored to integrate spiritual themes in a way that’s gentle, client-led, and never pushed.

I value authenticity, warmth, and a little humor in the therapy room. You don’t have to show up polished or prepared—just bring yourself. Together, we’ll explore patterns, build skills, and create the kind of internal space where confidence and self-compassion can grow.

My hope is for you to walk away not just coping, but feeling more connected to who you are and confident in where you’re going.

"Being vulnerable doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you trust yourself enough to handle the hurt."

My Specialties

Being a teen or young adult today feels heavy with pressure, uncertainty, and constant comparison. I help young people feel understood, build confidence, and find practical ways to manage anxiety and stress. If your teen or young adult needs a grounded, relatable therapist who truly gets it, this is where they will feel supported.

Teens & Young Adults

If your emotions feel too big, too fast, or too hard to control, you are not broken, you are overwhelmed. I help you understand what is happening beneath the surface and teach tools that make daily life feel calmer and more manageable. If you are ready to feel more steady and in control, this work can create real change.

Emotional Regulation

Life transitions can shake your sense of stability even when they are supposed to be exciting. I help you sort through the overwhelm, make sense of what is changing, and create a clear path forward that feels doable and grounding. If you are craving direction and steadiness in the midst of uncertainty, you do not have to navigate this alone.
